Thank You

Thank you to all of the coaches, assistants, players & parents who attended the awards ceremony.  I will be making arrangements with those who need to get their trophies or sweatshirts for those who could not make it.

I hope the kids liked their trophies and their sweatshirts.  It was a crazy night - but rewarding to see all those smiles on the kids faces as they heard such great accolades from their coaches. What a wonderful sight on Wednesday morning to see everyone wearing their new sweatshirts!

Again, those behind the scenes that I would like to thank again are all the custodial staff who were always cleaning up behind us at night, setting up, helping us out when our key cards didn't work, keeping us in check.  They do not get many thanks because they go unseen, but they do not go unnoticed.

EYAA Basketball Philosophy

We want to put the “fun” back in “fundamentals” and get “back to the basics”! Our goal is to provide a foundation where the kids are our focus and encourage new players to the game. We will be concentrating on (all levels): fundamentals, building self-esteem and emphasizing sportsmanship - while having fun.

Research shows that by keeping kids interested in sports throughout school, it is more likely to help to keep them out of trouble. By teaching kids to be part of a team, it teaches them teamwork, work ethic and also builds character.

Being on a team is 50% athleticism and 50% sportsmanship. While competition is important, having fun and keeping kids interested is our immediate goal.  Fundamentals are worked on daily even by professional players - being taught proper fundamentals at an early age is the basis of building any athlete. Our end goal is to have players be comfortable with fundamentals to allow them to compete at a higher level – because we are the building foundation for future teams.

Please remember that EYAA basketball is open to all children who are in Kindergarten to 8th grade and is considered a recreation league and for grades 3 - 8, participate in the Lamprey River Basketball League.

Do you have questions or suggestions for the upcoming year?

If you have any questions or suggestions for the upcoming basketball season, please feel free to contact me by email or come attend an EYAA Meeting - the meetings are listed on the calender for the 2nd Tuesday of every month.  Your input is valuable to me to help make this program better.
