K Program: The K program will always run first in the morning beginning at 8:30am for 1 hour in the EES gym. If you have any issues, please contact me at nicolehbball@gmail.com .
1st/2nd Program: The 1st/2nd grade teams will run on a rotating schedule for 1 hour on the 1/2 hour - so make sure you pay attention to the schedule to find out what time your team is playing. Please review the gym rules below.
3rd/4th Grade: 3rd/4th grade teams will have all games on Saturdays. Home games will be held in the EMS Gym. Please review the gym rules below.
Friendly Reminders and Rules of the Gym:
Have your children "designate" a pair of shoes solely for Basketball season. They must wear a different pair of shoes to the school and change into their "basketball" sneakers in the lobby (preferably on the mats) as the weather gets worse with rain, sleet, salt and dare I say...snow?
All players in K - 8th grade MUST dress for WINTER - that means sweatpants, sweatshirts & jackets, etc. when coming and going from practices or games in case we have issues getting into facilities. As you continue on, this will be stressed, especially in Middle School and High School. We don't want injuries or frostbite.
Our gyms - EHS, EMS and EES are "Water Only" gyms. This means no sticky drinks, coffee, Gatorade, soda, flavored waters or food. This is School Board policy designed to protect our gym floors. There are tables set up in the lobbies to place your drinks and food prior to entering the gym.
Please put away any chairs taken out, pick up any trash that you may find.
Lobbies - Absolutely no bouncing any balls in the lobbies at any time.
For Safety:
EYAA is trying to keep your children safe and teach them respect for our facilities. Thank you in advance for respecting these rules and being a role model.

This schedule is tenative. There may have been changes made since its development. Please make sure you get the most up-to-date information from your coach about practices and games.
We want to put the “fun” back in “fundamentals” and get “back to the basics”! Our goal is to provide a foundation where the kids are our focus and encourage new players to the game. We will be concentrating on (all levels): fundamentals, building self-esteem and emphasizing sportsmanship - while having fun.
Research shows that by keeping kids interested in sports throughout school, it is more likely to help to keep them out of trouble. By teaching kids to be part of a team, it teaches them teamwork, work ethic and also builds character.
Being on a team is 50% athleticism and 50% sportsmanship. While competition is important, having fun and keeping kids interested is our immediate goal. Fundamentals are worked on daily even by professional players - being taught proper fundamentals at an early age is the basis of building any athlete. Our end goal is to have players be comfortable with fundamentals to allow them to compete at a higher level – because we are the building foundation for future teams.
If you have any questions or suggestions for the upcoming basketball season, please feel free to contact me by email.
